(Soecial) WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. Following is the special forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office this evening for the period ending 5 p.m. tomorrow:— Situation: An anti-cyclone extends from the Tasman Sea on to the Dominion. Forecast: Moderate to strong westerly to north-westerly winds JVeather fair to fine and milder.
After a dull morning, the weather in Invercargill cleared considerably yesterday and the sun shone during the afternoon. A fresh westerly wind blew throughout the day. Temperatures remained low. The weather at 1 o clock this morning was cool, calm and overcast. The barometer reading was 30.30 in (steady).
