ALLEGED FORGERY OF PETROL COUPONS

(P.A.) WHANGAREI, August 4. The first prosecutions in the Dominion since the Government announcement that forged petrol coupons were being circulated resulting in the enforcement of measures to check their use were brought in the Whangarei Court today when Donald Lamon, aged 31, salesman, and Charles White, aged 32, farmer, were charged before Justices of the Peace. Lamon was charged that at Auckland on June 29 he forged a card of petrol coupons with intent that it should be acted upon as genuine and that at Whangarei on the same date he conspired with Charles White and others unknown to utter forged petrol coupons. White was charged with conspiring with Lamon and others to utter forged petrol coupons. The accused were committed for trial.
