HOSPITAL SERVICES

Scheme Of Co-Ordination

(P.A.) WHANGAREI, April 28. The Minister of Health, the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer, today concluded a visit to six northern hospital boards for the purpose of placing before them proposals for the co-ordination of the health hospital services in their area. He expressed himself as highly gratified with the result of these preliminary discussions with the boards, the members of which had without exception approved the principle of unified administration of preventive and curative measures under one body for the whole area. The proposals will likely afford some relief to rating for hospital purposes in this area. Details of the scheme, which will still maintain, an adequate measure of local responsibility for the management of institutions, are to be forwarded to the boards in due course when full publicity will be given to the proposals.
