Mrs J. Thomson, Grace street, is visiting Dunedin. * Miss Ursula Calson has been appointed travelling secretary for the South Island for Dr Barnardq s work. Mrs T. A. Stone, who has been the guest of Mr and Mrs W. F. H. Stone, Earnslaw street, returned to Christchurch yesterday.
Mr and Mrs J. Elliot and Mrs M. Elliot, Dunedin, have returned north after being the guests of Mrs R. Henderson, Victoria Avenue.
Miss A. M. McGill, Timaru, has been appointed supervisor of the Invercargill telephone exchange in succession to Miss E. M. Dillicar, who has been transferred to the exchange inspectional staff. Mrs E. M. Symonds, of the telephone exchange training school, Wellington, has been appointed supervisor of the Gore telephone exchange in place of Miss J. E. Aitken, who will take up a similar position at Nelson.
Mr and Mrs G. A. Anderson, whose wedding took place at * Blairmore, Thombury, returned to Wellington during the week. Mrs Anderson (formerly Miss Margaret Hogg) was guest of honour at a gift afternoon from the start and pupils of the Kelburn school, Wellington. A meeting of the Business and Professional Women's Club will be held in the Tudor Lounge on Tuesday, May 2, at 5.45 p.m. Only those members who make reservations will be admitted owing to catering difficulties. 9634
