CANCER OF LARYNX CURED

(Rec. 7 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 8. Dr Max Cutler, the eminent cancer specialist, announced ’ the development of a highly successful method of treating apparently early cases of cancer of the larynx. The new treatment concentrates either X-ray. or radium rays upon a very small area, with very strong doses given at the point of the growth’s origin, which is the most rseistant part and where a recurrence is most common. The treatment of 50 moderately early cases resulted in the initial disappearance of the lesion in 40 cases, while 23 of 28 patients treated three years ago are still alive with the disease apparently cured. Under former methods the complete removal of the larynx would be necessary in approximately half of these patients to effect a cure.
