COMPANY PROMOTERS DISQUALIFIED
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, December 17. The disqualification of Albert Adam Wilson, solicitor, of Westport, from taking any part in the management of a company for four years from August 6, 1942, and the disqualification of Andrew Hunter, farmer, of Tiromoana, for two years were contained in a reserved judgment delivered by Mr Justice Northcroft in the Supreme Court this morning. His Honour’s judgment referred to the matter of New Brighton Coal Mines, Ltd. (in liquidation) in which there was a summons by the official assignee for an order under Section 216 of the Companies Act 1933 that Wilson and Hunter be disqualified from being directors of or In any way directly or indirectly concerned in or taking part in the management of a company for a period not exceeding five years from August 6, 1942. The summon.’ was on the ground that the official assignee had made a further report under the Companies Act stating that in his opinion fraud had been committed by each in the promotion of the company and In relation to the company since its formation.
