CANDIDATE FOR MEAT BOARD

(P.A.) - WELLINGTON, Dec. 17. The Dominion executive of the Farmers’ Union had received a request from the Hawke’s Bay provincial district that it should support the nomination of Mr J. D. Ormond for the Meat Board at the next election, said Mr A. P. O’Shea, Dominion secretax-y of the union. The request would be placed before the Dominion executive at the February meeting. Mr Ormond was a member of the Meat Board before the war and resigned to go overseas. The chairman, Mr T. A. Duncan, had indicated that he was not seeking reelection at the end of the present term.
