INDEPENDENT NATIONAL CANDIDATE

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 18. Five candidates for selection as representative of the Independent National Party in the Kaipara electorate had their claims reviewed at a meeting of the selection committee and Mr T. Clifton Webb, solicitor, of Auckland, was chosen by ballot. The successful candidate is of a family of northern Wairoa pioneers who have been . closely identified with the public life of North Auckland. He came to live in Auckland 16 years ago.
