MAGISTRATE’S COURT At a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at Bluff today (Friday), Mr R. C. Abernethy, S.M., presided. Victor Woods was charged with unlawfully converting a bicycle to his own use. He was convicted and sentenced to imprisonment for three weeks with hard labour. Arthur Herbert King, for driving without a licence, was convicted and fined 10/-. For failing to have a warrant of fitness he was convicted and fined 5/-. MOTOR LICENCES.—The postmaster reports that at least 60 per cent, of the cars in Bluff have been registered for the coming year. z , _, THIRD LIBERTY LOAN.—Mesdames Edwards and Newton, who canvassed the whole of Bluff for contributions to the third Liberty Loan, collected altogether £34. This amount was used to purchase Liberty Bonds which have been handed to the Patriotic Committee. OYSTER FLEET. —Though there have been several hard frosts at Bluff during the past week the weather has remained calm, enabling the oyster fleet to visit the beds each day. Good catches of fish have also been recorded.
