Interim Objectives

In the Third Liberty Loan campaign Southland has already attained what may be described as interim objectives. The first aim was to have £300,000 in hand to coincide with the visit to the city of Mr T. N. Smallwood, chairman of the National War Savings Committee, and the second was to have £500,000 in hand by the time Mr R. W. Cox, deputy chief accountant of the Reserve Bank, Wellington, arrived. The requisite amount was in hand by the required date in each case. Now another interim objective has been set, £1,000,000 by the end of this week. On Saturday the total was £664,927, or £335,073 short of £1,000,000. The district organizer, Mr W. G. Nield thinks that this interim objective will be attained. He is also confident that when the loan closes on July 10 Southland will have reached its objective of £1,300,000.
