INJURIES TO BACK.— Mf Donald MacKenzie. Yarrow street, who received injuries to his back when a bale of wool fell on him while he was at work, was admitted to the Southland’ Ho.spital, where he will be a patient for some months. LINEN FLAX PAYMENT.— Mr W. A. Mowat, manager of the Otautau linen flax factory, advises that the average price for flax grown in the Otautau district last season returned £ 18/2/- an acre, the highest price being £36 and the lowest £6 an acre.
