Unsettled and Cooler

(Special) WELLINGTON, April 8. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Fresh to strong northerly winds later changing to westerly or southwesterly. The .weather cloudy and unsettled with rain at times; temperatures becoming cold.

The weather in Invercargill yesterday was warm and sunny with a strong northeasterly wind which moderated during the afternoon. Rain began to fall about 10.30 p.m. At 1 o’clock this morning rain was still falling. There was no wind. The barometer reading was 29.65 in. (falling).

The Tides. —High- water, Invercargill, 5.50 a.m.; 6.20 p.m. Bluff, 5.09 a.m.; 5.39 p.m.Riverton, 4.09 a.m.; 4.39 p.m. Oreti Beach, 4.18 a.m.; 4.48 p.m. The Sun.—Rises 7.15 a.m.; sets 6.22 p.m.
