NATIONAL PARTY

Candidates Being Chosen

The selection of candidates to represent the National Party in all the city electorates is at present under consideration, according to a statement by the chairman of the Otago and Southland Division of the National Party, Mr E. J. Smith, made at Dunedin on Wednesday. Mr Smith added that the conference of South Island members, which had been held in Christchurch, had been of an inspiring nature. An important address on policy had been given by the party leader, Mr S. G. Holland, . who would deliver his first policy speech at Auckland next week. The annual meetings of the branches of the party in Otago and Southland will be held at an early date, and at these meetings the dates will be fixed for the closing of nominations for candidates for parliamentary honours.
