LITTLE SOUTHLANDERS’ CHRONICLE
My dear Cousins, The nursery rhymes were so real that they almost came to life on my desk this week. Percy Pencil was hoping they would stay on the paper, for he did not like the look of Miss Mullet’s spider and said he would go on strike if it came out of the pictures and took possession of the desk. There wasn’t enough room there for Percy and the spider too. Cousin Betty thought it might be better if the nursery folk stayed where they were, as she did not want six or seven Humpty Dumptys breaking on the floor. She felt that if all the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put them together again, then she and her helpers would not be able to do it either. This all goes to show that your entries were good and the Art Club too has made a good start for the year. Your loving
