BRITAIN HIGHLY MOBILIZED
25,000,000 Persons Registered (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, March 6. Mr G. H. Ince, Director-General of Man-power, speaking in London, said there was no doubt that Britain was mobilized to a greater degree than any nation in the world. He paid a special tribute to the women for the extent to which they had taken their places in all the industries and services of the country. Mr Ince said that registrations under the National Service Act and Employment Order amounted to about 18,000,000 men and women. With
additional registrations of boys and girls, special industrial registrations and registrations for fire prevention duties, the Ministry of Labour had been called on to register no fewer than 25,000,000 persons since the outbreak of war. The fact that mobilization had reached such a high degree did not mean that they could now sit back. A big call-up for the forces would be made this year, and increased munitions workers would mean an even greater strain on male and female resources in future.
