SPANISH DIPLOMAT VISITS AMERICA

(Rec. 10 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 5. v The New York Times says that the former Spanish Foreign Minister, Senor Juan Beigbeder, has arrived in America. The Under-Secretary of State, Mr Sumner Welles, explained that he came solely at the initiative of the Spanish Government and at no initiative whatever of the White House. Diplomats say it is not a diplomatic mission, but that Senor Beigbeder has come for private and military reasons, involving a first-hand study of American affairs and war effort.
