CARPENTER KILLED IN AIR CRASH
(P.A.) TIMARU, September 27. Kenneth Walter Cox, aged 27, was killed this afternoon at Fairview when he took up for the first time a singleseater plane which he purchased in Christchurch a month ago. The machine did not gain much altitude and was flying down a gully above a creek when it crashed. Cox, who was a carpenter by trade and not an experienced pilot, was killed instantly.
