WASTE PAPER DEPOT

Although large quantities of waste paper have been received at the depot in Esk street since it was opened, the voluntary workers have managed to keep ahead of the supply. A big pile of paper stored In the main room on the ground floor a few days ago has now been reduced by the sorters to 'quite small proportions. People are therefore asked to bring or send along supplies of paper. This week 28 bales of paper were sent to the Mataura mills, making a total of 75 bales since the depot was opened. Women volunteers are now working regular shifts at the depot, but there Is still a shortage of male workers. Girl Guides are to do sorting at the depot this morning.
