NEED FOR SKILLED FARM WORKERS

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, June 17. “Three things are paramount in a - war crisis—food, equipment and man power. All are based on man power," said Mr J. N. Massey, M.P., at a conference he called as chairman of the Franklin County Council. “Our soldiers must be supplied with food and the position is desperate,” he added. “There are many men in camp today who would be serving their country just as well on the farm. Herds are being reduced and It will take years to bring them back if the drainage of skilled farm workers continues.” It was decided to form the conference into a committee to collect facts for Mr Massey to present to the Prime Minister.
