WOODLANDS AIRMAN HONOURED

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 17. Figuring in the King’s Birthday honours list as mentioned in dispatches are many New Zealanders serving overseas with the Royal Air Force. They include Acting Flight-Lieutenant C. K. Saxelby, who was born at Woodlands in 1921 and was educated at the Southland Boys’ High School. He was granted a temporary commission in the R.N.Z.A.F. in 1939, relinquishing this on transferring to the R.A.F. in April 1940. His next-of-kin is given as his sister, Miss E. N. Saxelby, Christchurch.
