THANKS FOR HOME GUARD.— Appreciation of the good service given to the Underwood Home Guard by the Southland County Council was expressed in a letter read at the meeting of the County Council yesterday. “At a parade of the Underwood Home Guard it was decided to send a letter of appreciation for the use of the county truck,” the letter stated. “It has saved the platoon much trudging over difficult country; also, as we have been carting material for dug-outs it is hard to say what we would have done without it.”
