DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKETS
(P.A.) DUNEDIN, June 12. Odd parcels of wheat are still appearing on the market from districts where threshing has been carried out from the stack. It is becoming Increasingly difficult to make sales of milling wheat, as most millers have secured their quotas for the season. Offerings of oats from the country are now easing off and with the advent of winter, threshing is practically finished for the time being. Values sliow no alteration with the nominal quotations for A and B Gartons at 4/3 f.o.b.s.e. and 4/- f.o.b.s.i respectively. These prices are equivalent to 3/3 and 3/- on trucks at country sidings, sacks extra. Sufficient supplies of potatoes are coming forward to meet the local demand, but the quantity available in the Otago district is not sufficient to permit of shipments to the North Island. It is generally expected that supplies of table potatoes will have to be drawn from Canterbury later in the season. During the week most interest has been displayed In white clover, and the demand for this variety from overseas remains consistently steady. Notwithstanding that the prices ruling for white clover are very high, there has been a slight strengthening in the tone of the market. Cocksfoot seed is also being inquired for, and here again it is the demand from overseas that influences values.
