THE WEATHER
Mainly Fair (Special) WELLINGTON, June 2. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Moderate easterly winds predominating; some scattered drizzle on the coast, but the weather for the most part fair; temperatures cold with some sharp frosts inland. After a heavy frost of 12 degrees the weather in Invercargill yesterday was beautifully fine and sunny. This morning at 1 o clock light rain was falling There was a light wind from the north." The barometer reading was 29.94 in (falling).
THE TIDES.— High water, Invercargill, 6 15 a.m., 6.41 p.m.; Bluff, 5.34 a.m., 6.0 p.m;. Riverton, 5-15 a.m.. 5.41 p.m.; Oreti Beach. 5 24 a.m.. 5-50 P ,nl, THE SUN.— Rises 8.22 a.m.; sets 5.08 p.m.
