/p p. \ WELLINGTON, June 1. v Though it just managed to beat the rainfall records by the two points that fefi on Sunday, last month was easily the most sunless May ever experienced in Wellington. The hours of sunshine totalled 66.5 against a normal 130.4. Rain fell on 22 days, the total fall being 1185 inches against a normal 4.16. Six gales made it the second windiest May recorded. Temperatures were practically normal, being an average of 52 degrees. _________
