Mr R. N. Todd has been nominated by the South African War Veterans’ Association as the association’s representative on the Invercargill branch of the Disabled Servicemen’s Re-Estab-lishment League.
Mr Hugh Crawford, of Invercargill, was nominated for the position of district vice-president foi* Otago and Southland of the New Zealand Returned Services Association at the annual meeting of the district council of the Invercargill association yesterday. Dr A. Owen-Johnston (president), Mr W. F. H. Stone (secretary) and Mr W. R. Ayson (Otautau) were appointed delegates to the annual conference of the New Zealand Returned Services Association at the annual meeting of the district council of the Invercargill association yesterday. Lieutenant G. R. Milward, formerly engineer to the Southland County Council, was met by the chairman (Mr L. A. Niederer) and members of the council yesterday and handed gifts consisting of a case of pipes, a tobacco pouch and a smoker’s companion. Mr Niederer made the presentation and expressed the good wishes of members and staff for a successful career in the Army. Lieutenant Milward is attached to the engineering section of the Army.
