PURSUANT to the provisions of The Local Elections and Polls Act 1925, and its amendments, I hereby give notice that as a result of the vacancy that has been created in that office, an Election will be held on Monday, the 22nd day of June, 1942, for the purpose of electing a Mayor for the City of Invercargill, and I hereby appoint the Town Hall, Tay Street, Invercargill, as the place, and Wednesday the 10th day of June, 1942, before noon, as the day for the nomination of candidates for such office. Nomination papers may be obtained at the Corporation Offices situated at the Town Hall, and every candidate shall, at the time of nomination, deposit with me the sum of £lO. The roll to be used in connection with the above Election, will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, Bth June, 1942, and may be inspected at the Town Hall, Tay Street, during office hours. Any person of the age of 21 years and over who has been in New Zealand for the past twelve months, and who has resided in the City of Invercargill for the past three months, and who is a British subject, is entitled to be enrolled.
