TAKINGS AT BATHS

The takings at the Tepid Baths during the year ended March 31, 1942, amounted to £715/19/- and were with the exception of the epidemic year 1936-37 the lowest on record, and £77 below the average yearly takings. The main decrease in sales were in men’s season tickets (£25/10/-), adults’ concession tickets (£l4/10/6), adults’ single admissions (£66/2/6) and adults’ costumes (£6/19/-), a total of £ll3/2/-. These figures were given by the baths superintendent, Mr H. S. Baker, in a report presented to the City Council at its meeting last night. Mr Baker attributed the decrease to the number of men who are away on military duties, coupled with one of the worst summers since the baths were opened.
