MEXICO ON VERGE OF ENTERING WAR

(Rec. 6.30 p.m.) MEXICO CITY. May 25 The Associated Press says the permanent congressional commission which functions while Congress is not in session quickly and unanimously approved a message in which the President, General Avila Camacho, asked for a war declaration, emergency powers and the suspension of constitutional guarantees. The Permanent Commission decided to summon a special session of Congress on Thursday, when it is expected that General Camacho will deliver a war message to the joint session. At today’s meeting of the commission General Camacho’s preliminary message expressed indignation at the sinking of two Mexican ships with the loss of 24 lives.
