ANNUAL MEETING OF ST JOHN’S PARENTS

There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Parents’ Association of St. John’s Girls’ School, held at the school last evening. Dr J. A. Pottinger was in the chair. The chairman’s report and the balance-sheet were adopted, and officers were elected as follows: Chairman, Dr J. A. Pottinger; secretary and treasurer, Mr P. L. Hodge (both re-elected); board of management, Messrs A. B. Macalister, C. B. Broad, R. Lund and J. C. Prain (all re-elected), C. R. Hart and E. H. J. Preston.

Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs G. M. Broughton and N. A. Brodrick, retiring members of the board, who have held various offices since 1936. Mr Broughton is a former chairman and secretary of the board. A vote of thanks was also passed to Mr R. R. Binney, the retiring auditor (now on active service), and Mr L. S. Alsweiler was appointed in his place.
