OUTSIZE IN GREEN PEAS

Green peas almost as big as broad beans were among the exhibits at the Invercargill Horticultural Society’s autumn show yesterday The pods were seven inches long and- averaged 11 large peas to ■'the pod. The peas were grown by Mr J. L. McCormick, of 389 Tay street, who imported some seed of Ryder’s Exhibition variety two years ago. Mr McCormick attributes the general excellence of the peas to the fertility of the soil.
