OBITUARY
MRS JOHN McCALL The death occurred yesterday at her home in Don street of Mrs John McCall. Mrs McCall was the third daughter of the late Mr David Warnock, of Seaward Downs. She was born at Green Island in 1857 and attended the High Street School in Dunedin. She was married to Mr McCall in 1881 and went to Eastern Bush, where they established a fine farm. Mr and Mrs McCall lived there for 38 years, later retiring in Invercargill, where Mr McCall died in 1921. Mrs McCall was very bright and cheerful and could recount many vivid and interesting reminiscences of the early days in Dunedin and Invercar-
gill. In all Mrs McCall attended 74 summer shows in Invercargill and clearly remembered the first show, which was held in 1866. She did not take a great part in public life, but was a keen supporter of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs McCall had a family of four sons and four daughters. One daughter died many years ago and one son was killed in the Great War. The surviving members of her family are Mre J. H. Thomson (Thomson’s Crossing), Mrs R. W. R. Bradley (Mangapiri), Miss I. M. McCall (Invercargill) and Messrs John McCall (North Auckland), David McCall (Croydon) and James McCall (Dunedin).
