AIR RAID SHELTERS IN DUNEDIN

(P.A.) DUNEDIN, March 4. To the public and business air raid shelters recently announced, including the use of the old Caversham railway tunnel, there are to be added locally 3000 feet of concrete pipes, six feet in diameter, and 4400 feet five feet in diameter which will have seating accommodation for 5000 persons. These shelters will be placed in specially prepared beds. The total number of persons that could be accommodated in public and business shelters planned is oyer 21,000.
