BLUFF NEWS

The vital statistics at Bluff last month were as follows, those for February 1941 being given in parentheses: Births, 2( 7); deaths, — (1); marriages, 1 (1). The postmaster advises that on and after March 9 only two outward mails will be cleared daily at Bluff, closing at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

At a meeting of the Women’s Patriotic Association letters were received from three soldiers overseas, one being from Otautau, expressing appreciation of the Christmas parcels. The Otautau soldier had also received a parcel from Limehills. All three were deeply grateful for the eatables. It was decided to send the woollen goods in stock to the men overseas as gifts from the club.
