WAIPIATA SANATORIUM COMMITTEE

At the monthly meeting of the Waipiata Sanatorium Committee the medical superintendent, Dr A. Kidd, reported that during January 76 patients had been admitted, 13 were discharged and 130 were in the institution at the end of the month. He recommended as suitable for admission to the sanatorium one patient from Southland, three. from South Canterbury, two from Waitaki and one from Maniototo, a total of seven. The secretary stated that one of these patients had been admitted, four were on the waiting list and two had yet to apply. The secretary reported that on February 24 the associated boards had patients in the institution as follows:— Southland 69, South Canterbury 31, Ashburton 10, Waitaki 6, South Otago 11, Vincent four, Maniototo three—a total of 134. Since the previous meeting three patients from two hospital districts had been discharged and there was a waiting list of 12 patients from five districts.
