Their effort, which follows, has kept them from beds Long after their usual disperses: We of the bakehouse are proud of the way . That “Good Things to Eat” are concocted; So here’s where we come in in having our say— In a verse that’s been heavily doctored. There’s Andy and Jimmy and George and old Sam, Who’re famed for their baking, and bowling On greens that are heavy, or fast as a tram That ’tween stops has got past you, just strolling. Then there’s Archie and Jock, who at billiards do make Figures as round as their pies; And Bob, who puts ginger in biscuits and cake, And Ted, a Home Guardsman so wise; And Davy, of wheelbarrow fame, is the next To receive such honourable mention.
