AMERICA WARNED
(Rec. 5.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, February 19. The nation should expect attacks all along our coasts, similar to the raids on Aruba Island in the Caribbean Sea,” said the Secretary for War, Mr Henry L. Stimson at a Press conference. He warned the people to be prepared for pressure from thoughtless persons to scatter the defensive forces to meet such attacks. Yielding to the pressure would be the surest way of losing the war. Replying to criticism about the failure of the United Nations to take the initiative, Mr Stimson said, “We will seize every opportunity for counterattack, offensive and surprise.”
