On Friday afternoon at the Disabled Soldiers’ Products shop in Dee street, Mrs D. Mulvey, president of the Southern Southland Federation of Women’s Institutes, will give a demqristration of spinning, using the sewing machine attachment made by the returned soldiers. The various stages in the preparation of the raw fleece for spinning will be shown, and garments made from the wool will be on display. Stockings and other articles of clothing made from the raw fleece are particularly good for men working on minesweepers, as the oil in the wool makes them practically waterproof. It'is hoped that visitors seeing the value of these knitted goods, will give wool to be spun. The attachment, which may be fitted to an ordinary sewing-machine, will be on sale at the shop.
