MATCH WITH EASTERN SOUTHLAND
TOWN CRICKET TEAM TO TRAVEL TO GORE
The nominations of players for the President’s trophy, awarded to the player under 17 years with the best performance in batting, bowling, fielding and club work, must be forwarded to the secretary of the Southland Cricket Association before the next meeting of the association on February 10. The committee appointed will then watch the players’ performances until the end of the season. This was decided at a meeting of the management committee of the association last night. On the suggestion of Mr J. O. Traynor it was decided to write to the Eastern Southland Cricket Association and ask if it would be suitable for a team representing Town to travel to Gore in March and play a match with an Eastern Southland team.
It was decided that matches in the third grade competition would be resumed on Saturday, February 7, after the school vacation. SATURDAY’S FIXTURES
The fixtures for Saturday are as follows::—
