OBITUARY
MR W. G. WAGHORN The death occurred suddenly at Winton of Mr William George Waghorn, in his 67th year. Mr Waghorn was well known in the Central district, having worked for the late Mr William Swale for just on 23 years before retiring to Winton, where he lived for the past few years. He was born at Loose, Kent, England, and was married to Miss Bsay Hearn, 43 years ago. He has been in New Zealand 28 years, and has lived most of the time in Southland. Mr Waghorn is survived by two daughters, Mrs Grace Healey (Dipton), and Mrs Clara Perrin (Menzies Ferry). MR F. G. CALVERT The death occurred at Invercargill recently of Mr F. G. Calvert at the age of 86. Mr Calvert arrived in Southland in 1862, his parents having bought a farm at Roslyn Bush. He spent the earlier part of his life in the Roslyn Bush district and eventually purchased a farm property at Myross Bush. He worked the farm for 45 years and later retired to live in Invercargill. Mr Calvert was an active supporter of the Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife and a son and daughter.
