RAIL SERVICES TO TARAWA RESTORED

The normal mail services from Lumsden to Kingston were restored on Monday after being dislocated on Saturday by the flooding of the Oreti river. Trains from Lumsden to Kingston could not get as far as Parawa on Saturday and the Railway Department had to transport the passengers from Athol to Parawa by bus.
