AIRMAN HONOURED AT ORAWIA

A large crowd attended a social which was held recently in the Orawia Hall to honour Leading-Aircraftmen E. J. Goodall and P. D. Sim. During the evening members of the Tuatapere Pipe Band piped the guests of the evening on to the stage. On behalf of the Orawia residents Mr D. McGibbon presented Leading-Aircraftman Goodall with a wristlet watch. Mr R. Wyeth and A. Wilson also presented him with gifts from the Orawia tennis and football clubs Mr A. Findlay on behalf of the Pukemaori residents made a presentation to Leading-Aircraftman Sim. Mr Lockhead also spoke. Also on the stage were B. Waterhouse, of the Royal New Zealand Navy and Private J. Williams, who was recently invalided home from overseas. Both were presented with gifts.
