BLACKOUT SCREENS
OBLIGATION OF OCCUPIERS OF PREMISES
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, December 19.
An order under the Lighting Restrictions Emergency Regulations lays down instructions about the provision of blackout screens. The occupier of a premises must forthwith" make provision for the immediate and complete blacking out at any time for an indeterminate number of hours of a room or rooms that provide enough accommodation for the greatest number of persons that may be in the premises at any time during the hours of darkness.
Such provision must be by way of a screen through which no light, directly or indirectly, escapes and that can be applied quickly by any person at any time likely to be in charge of the premises. The controller is empowered to require the complete blacking out of the whole or part of any premises and io enforce the provisions to any building which at. the moment does not contain people after dark.
