TUATAPERE BEATEN BY OTAUTAU Playing at Otautau the home team beat Tuatapere by nine sets to seven. Following were the results (Otautau names first): — Women’s Singles.—Miss M. Ballam beat Miss Henderson 7-0; Mrs Owen beat Miss Wrather 7-5; Miss Owen beat Mrs Dewe 7-5; Miss E. Ballam beat Mrs Hobbs 7-1. Men’s Singles.—A. Harrington lost to A. Higgins 2-9; H. Chandler lost to Dr Elder 3-9; R. Ballam lost to A. D. McClymont 3-9; H. B. Barnfield lost to Corkery 6-9. Women’s Doubles.—Miss M. Ballam and Mrs Owen beat Misses Henderson and Wrather 7-2; Misses M. Owen and E. Ballam beat Mesdames Dewe and Hobbs 7-1. Men’s Doubles.—A. Harrington and H. Chandler lost to A. Higgins and Dr Elder 3-9; R. Ballam and H. B. Barnfield beat A. D. McClymont and Corkery 9-8. Mixed Doubles.--M. Ballam and A. Harrington beat Miss Henderson and A. Higgins 7-4; Mrs Owen and H. Chandler lost to Miss Wrather and Dr Elder 4-7; Miss M. Owen and R. Ballam lost to Mrs Dewe and A. D. McClymont 3-7; Miss E. Ballam and H. B. Bamfield beat Mrs Hobbs and P. Corkery 7-3.
