CRICKET

VISIT OF OTAGO ELEVEN An Otago cricket eleven will travel to Invercargill at the New Year to play a representative match against Southland. The game between Otago and Canterbury will be played at Christchurch at Christmas. Advice to this effect has been received by the secretary of the Southland Cricket Association, Mr A. J. Hamilton. In the letter received by Mr Hamilton the secretary of the Otago Association stated that his association was endeavouring to send a team to Christchurch to take part in the Brabin Shield matches on December 29 and 30 and January 1. Mr Hamilton was requested to forward the names of any promising player in Southland under the age of 21. Under the Brabin Shield rules the teams must be made up of players who have not had more than two games in senior cricket.
