RED CROSS NOTES

Voluntary Aid Classes.—During the week the voluntary aid examinations have been held in the various classes, and the results will be published next week. All members of the home nursing and sanitation classes are asked to meet at the voluntary aid rooms, New Zealand Express Company’s building, on Monday at 7.30 p.m. The business is important. The society acknowledges with thanks the following: Otara Red Cross Sub-Centre, £l/16/-; parcels from Wairio, Tuatapere, Wyndham and Wallacetown. Georgetown Committee.—Members of the committee are asked to meet in the Presbyterian Hall, Centre street, on Wednesday, at 2.30 p.m. Members of the guild are asked to meet at 3 p.m. The society acknowledges with thanks donations of £5 from the Georgetown Bowling Club, 3/- from Mrs Grey and 2/- from anonymous. Wallacetown Sub-Centre. —Last Saturday afternoon the members of the sub-centre held a successful garden party at the residence of Mr G. Dennis, Wallacetown. Mr J. D. Campbell, president of the Southland Centre, opened the proceedings, which including piping and dancing items, stalls, games and competitions. More than £3O was received for the afternoon’s effort.
