BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL CADETS
PLATOON COMPETITIONS
The annual inter-platoon ompetitions of the Southland Boys’ High School cadet battalion were held yesterday. Points were allotted for exercises in infantry work and physical training. Major J. L. Cameron and Captain J. L. Page were the judges and they expressed appreciation of the even standard of efficiency shown _ in the movements. After the competitions the officer commanding the battalion, Major H. W. Slater, congratulated the platoons and sergeants on the display given and on the manner in which they had carried out their drill movements. The results are as follows (the name of the sergeant in charge of the platoon being given in brackets): Platoon results: No. 1 Platoon (J. Thompson) 90pts 1, No. 2 Platoon (R, Duncan) 87pts 2, No. 5 Platoon (C. Snow) 82pts 3. Sergeants’ Competition: C. Snow (62pts) 1, N. Leckie (61pts) 2, J. Thompson (59pts) 3. Bearers’ Competition: J. Morison’s section.
