VOLUNTARY AIDS FOR MIDDLE EAST

The names of six Red Cross voluntary aids from Southland for service in the Middle East have been forwarded to Wellington for consideration. The women to be selected for service are required to be between the ages of 23 and 34 years. They must have certificates in first aid, home nursing, and hygiene and sanitation, and must have completed 60 hours’ training in a hospital. Following are the names of the Red Cross voluntary aids:—Misses Elena Robertson, Margaret Oliver and Philippa Hodge (Invercargill), Mary McKenzie, Winifred Hamilton and Janet Turnbull (Gore).
