GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO VISIT GORE

SOUTHERN TOUR NEXT MONTH Official confirmation was received at Gore yesterday that the GovernorGeneral, Sir Cyril Newall, and Lady Newall, will pay a visit to Gore on their southern tour next month. The date fixed for the visit is December 11 and their Excellencies will arrive by car at 11 a.m. and depart at 4 p.m. On their arrival they will be tendered a public welcome at the band rotunda in Medway street. In the event of wet weather other arrangements will be made. After the welcome the official luncheon will be held, and at 1.30 p.m. all primary and secondary school children will be assembled in a park. After the inspection their Excellencies will visit the Gore Public Hospital and the Gore Returned Services’ rooms. An informal afternoon tea will be arranged for 3.15 p.m., and their Excellencies will depart at 4 p.m.
