MR FRASER IS CONFIDENT
Removal Of Former
Handicaps
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, November 20. “This means that our men, who distinguished themselves so conspicuously in Greece and Crete, are once more on the march, but under very different conditions,” said the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, when referring to the advance into Cyrenaica. He said that the troops were not this time moving with an inadequate air force. Mr Fraser said he had just received a letter from Major-General B. C. Freyberg, V.C., assuring him that our men were not under the disadvantages they were so obviously under, and with such disastrous results, in Greece and Crete. It was true that when our troops left for Greece they were well equipped, but a great deal of their equipment had to be sacrificed.
“My thoughts are with our men in the Western Desert.” he said. I know that whatever comes our men and their comrades from South Africa, Britain and India will give a great account of themselves."
