FINE DISPLAY OF SHEEP
CANTERBURY SHOW
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, November 13. Canterbury’s third show of the war, which opened today at Addington, proI vided striking evidence of the ability lof the province to supply the things Britain needs. The stock represented the great resources of vital war needs in neat, wool and dairy produce. The war has had an effect on the show this year, for stock entries were lower because farmers did not have the labour to spend on preparing the animals for j display, but this voluntary culling of entries had the effect of raising the I general standard and making the disI play of sheep, in particular, one of the finest for years. I The day was fine with a cool breeze. The show" entries totalled 2851 as against 3250 last year, the biggest sectional drop being in sheep, which totalled 868.
